Seeing success
…is like bathing in sunlight
I wrote a little while ago about a woman who had been counselled to close her business. It was bad advice and mostly because this business has her heart and soul in it, her identity and a really good chance of success.
On Friday I reconnected with a couple I have known for years and years and have fallen out of contact with over recent years. I’m not going to say what they do or mention their names because they probably don’t want me to. It doesn’t matter who they are.
The point is that he runs a big industrial business and she has been looking for some time for the thing that will fulfill her.
His business, which is in a tough sector is thriving. Plenty of work in areas where demand is increasing and looking seriously at how to expand production capacity and capability.
She has found her feet running a small business that brings out the very best in her. Human contact, challenge, problem solving and growing an enterprise using her own smarts.
Both these people are employing staff in situations of stability and are providing a wide circle of families and their communities with a sense of stability in a very uncertain environment.
Things are tough. We need to find these examples of good things happening out there and celebrate them. To these guys, I say this. You have been very lucky and I’d add that it seems true that the harder you work, the luckier you get.
That’s it. A good news story in brief.
